CBC Newsworld Today (channel 15 in Calgary) will be featuring a segment on uranium in Southern Alberta today at 4:30pm. 

Uranium used to be $8/lb and now it is over $30. That is the "big picture" uranium story.

Most uranium stocks peaked in February/March of this year in spite of increasing uranium prices. The Bush energy plan could help draw attention to this tiny corner of the resource stock world.

A logical beneficiary of this phenomenon are the drillers. It's a "balls to the wall" environment as oil companies want to take advantage of stubbornly high oil and gas prices. Nobody is thinking about cutting back for the time being.

The "big picture" trend for commodities remains upwards as it takes 10-15 years for supply/demand issues to balance out. Mines, pipelines, tankers, and rail systems take a long time to build.
